Cue the French music
Copain is a “boulangerie” (French for “bakery”) that resides in Winston’s Thruway. Every time I am here I am always drawn to the beautiful pastries and all the different types of groups that visit— friends playing Mahjong, people working on their laptops, mom and dad grabbing a coffee with a new baby in tow, friends catching up over a macaron and a cappuccino.
Heather paints each coffee shop piece using espresso from the shop that she’s painting. Once the layers of espresso dry, she uses ink pen to bring objects and details to life. What started as a playful endeavor turned into a desire to capture as many Winston-Salem shops as possible.
Because each piece was created without the intention to sell, the size of the pieces is roughly 5.5” x 7.5” and would require custom framing. While you are welcome to purchase the piece as is, I also offer the option to matte and frame the piece for you.
